Anahat Meditation System

Opening Your Heart to Love

Anahat Meditation System

What would it mean to know your spiritual nature directly and live from that realization, fully grounded and present in everyday life? The Anahat Meditation System, taught by Matthew Brownstein, offers a structured path toward self-realization, opening the heart to love, and experiencing oneness with the Divine while fully embracing your human experience. Through meditation and sacred geometry, its lessons explore the relationship between Consciousness, energy, and the body, supporting the expression of love, light, and peace in every aspect of your life.

Matthew recounts that the system was revealed to him during meditation. He perceived sacred geometric patterns in his body and became aware of energy moving through them in an ordered flow. Along with these meditations came a way of teaching them to others, giving form to the sequence of lessons through which he now shares the Anahat Meditation System.

Three principal centers are essential to this balance, the Hara, Heart, and Head. The Hara, in the lower abdomen, supports grounding and the cultivation of concentrated power, which Matthew discusses through the terms Yoriki and Sanyam. In Heart Centered Meditation, that gathered energy and attention are directed toward the Heart to cultivate love and kindness. Through the Head and higher energy centers, the focus turns toward Consciousness itself and the direct realization of your spiritual nature. Together, these dimensions give meaning to being fully grounded, connected to Spirit, and living with an open heart as you meet life.

The teachings guide you toward a direct realization of your True Self, the unchanging spiritual presence aware of your body, thoughts, and emotions. Matthew refers to this presence as the Higher Self. Through the meditations, these words take on an intimate, personal meaning as you experience the truth of who you are and live from that awareness.

Living from this awareness also means opening your heart to what arises in your human experience. In the Anahat Meditation System, this includes giving emotions space to be felt and to pass, releasing what blocks the expression of love. As the Heart opens, your communion with Spirit finds expression in how you relate to others and meet the present moment, bringing the teachings into daily life.

Sacred geometry gives the system a distinctive structure. Its meditations guide breath, attention, and energy through the body in patterns that gradually include three-dimensional geometric forms. Each stage builds upon the preceding lessons, bringing together presence in the body, openness of the Heart, and spiritual realization.

Matthew describes an essential intention of the system in these words, “to infuse the presence of Spirit into the human experience.” His teachings carry this vision into daily living through devotion, relationships, and loving service, giving spiritual realization a place in how you meet each moment.

For me, these teachings took on their fullest meaning through the meditations and the way I now live. The inner transformation that led me to the Anahat Meditation System began as Matthew’s hypnotherapy client and continued as his student. Those experiences inspired me to venture further into my journey within.

“to infuse the presence of Spirit into the human experience.”

My Journey Within

Return to my True Self, Return to Love

For years, I searched outside myself for what I believed was missing in my life or lacking in me, the piece of the puzzle that would bring me peace, love, joy, success, and the freedom to enjoy my life. I changed places, relationships, and circumstances, hoping each new beginning would bring lasting fulfillment. Things felt better for a time, yet that sense of incompleteness would surface again.

It was in the midst of that search that my inner transformation began as Matthew Brownstein’s hypnotherapy client. Through our sessions, my relationship with my emotions and beliefs began to shift. Later, as his student in the Interpersonal Hypnotherapy training at the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy, that process continued through his teachings and the hypnosis sessions I received from classmates during practical training.

I released what had been holding me back. As emotional burdens were transformed and limiting beliefs were reframed, anger gave way to peace, sadness to joy, and fear to courage and a greater openness to love. Where I had felt alone or unlovable, I began to feel connected and worthy of love. My sense of vulnerability and feeling unsafe gave way to feeling protected and safe. Doubts about managing money yielded to confidence in my ability to learn, make thoughtful financial choices, and prosper. I also gave myself permission to enjoy abundance.

These experiences reshaped the way I perceived myself, other people, and the world around me. I grew more conscious of what I projected onto circumstances and how my beliefs influenced my interpretation of events. My attention, once directed toward altering the world outside me, gradually turned inward. With this new perspective, I found more freedom to respond to what was happening in the present moment.

That transformation inspired me to continue my journey within through the Anahat Meditation System. When I began the meditations, my intention was simply to learn to meditate and open my heart to love. Matthew’s lessons guided me step by step, providing a clear structure that supported this opening and enriched the spiritual knowing already present in my life.

Honoring his emphasis on consistency and proficiency before advancing, I practiced each meditation daily for at least a month, sometimes longer, as I moved through every level. This asked for commitment and patience. Through that dedication, the teachings took shape as a profoundly lived reality.

As the lessons guided my attention through the energy centers and meridians of my body, I felt energy moving through and around me. With continued meditation, I could feel the three-dimensional forms of sacred geometry and, at times, see energy moving through those patterns. These moments brought a sense of alignment between my physical and energetic bodies and a fuller connection to Spirit.

As I immersed myself in meditation, I had expansions of Consciousness and mystical moments, including what I came to recognize as Kundalini awakening. Alongside these new developments, the meditations enriched aspects of my spiritual life that were already present, including spontaneous out of body experiences. Through Matthew’s guidance, I began learning to enter those states voluntarily, something that had previously happened on its own.

These spiritual dimensions also found tangible expression in a remarkable moment shared with Rhonda, my colleague and dear friend. A powerful current of light flowed spontaneously from my Heart center toward hers. As its intensity grew, I could sense the pressure of that energy and her heart beginning to open. Rhonda recounted a force rising through her body until it reached her heart, bringing an immense release. At that very moment, I perceived both of our Heart centers expanding and the room filling with radiant light. She described an opening that left her free to feel and share love, as though something that had enclosed her heart had fallen away. Such a transmission of spiritual energy is known in some spiritual traditions as Shakti pat. We embraced in tears, moved by what we had shared. For me, all sense of time and space dissolved into oneness, pure peace, and love. Opening my heart to love had taken on a significance beyond anything words could convey.

Alongside these mystical moments, the meditations brought me more fully into the stillness of my spiritual nature. What the teachings pointed toward was now direct knowing. I am Pure Consciousness. The peace, love, and joy I had sought are who I am, already whole and complete. What I believed was missing had never been absent. This was my return to my True Self, my return to love.

Today, I live from that realization. Life continues to unfold before me, bringing me both welcome and challenging moments. Thoughts surface, emotions are felt, and sensations move through my body. These movements come and go, while the peace of my true nature endures. When my attention gets caught up in what is happening, I find it easier to let go and rest in that stillness again. Living from peace under all circumstances grows more natural each day.

The gift of free will now has a special personal significance. I have the freedom to choose where I place my attention and how I respond to present events. Letting go of what holds me back now comes with greater ease. I welcome emotions as they emerge and pass, meeting the present moment with acceptance and surrendering to what is.

Stillness, peace, love, joy, and Oneness express the same undivided truth of my being. From there, I live the fullness of my human experience in the way Matthew describes, “fully grounded, fully connected to Spirit with a fully open heart.” What this path gave me reaches into every part of how I live now. I am grateful to Matthew and the Anahat Meditation System. This journey was my return to my True Self, my return to love. That knowing stays with me as I live the fullness of each day.

Twelve core meditations, one stage at a time

A System That Develops Step by Step

The Anahat Meditation System includes twelve core meditations, corresponding energetic meditations, and advanced teachings. Each stage prepares you for the next, giving you time to absorb the instructions through consistent daily meditation. The first meditation, Descending, directs attention toward the Hara Center and establishes a grounded beginning. Heart Centered Meditation then brings attention to the Heart, cultivating love and openness to what is felt. Ascending Meditation guides attention toward the higher energy centers and Consciousness itself. Matthew’s teaching here concerns who you know yourself to be. Thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations come and go, while the Higher Self is the knowing presence aware of them. The meditations guide attention toward directly recognizing this Self. The advanced teachings explore Samadhi, states of meditative absorption that culminate in oneness with the Divine. In Matthew’s teaching, this realization reveals the True Self’s eternal oneness with the Divine, a unity that already exists rather than something meditation creates. The True Self is already whole and complete.

Ascending, Descending, and the Six-Pointed Star

Ascending and Descending also express two complementary spiritual movements in Matthew’s teachings. Ascending represents awakening from the false belief that you are separate from your Divine Source. What is released is the mistaken identification with being only a separate body and personality. What is realized is your spiritual nature and a oneness that was never absent. Descending represents the Divine expressing through form and the presence of Spirit permeating the human experience. Two interwoven triangles symbolize these movements. One points upward and the other downward, forming the six-pointed star, with the Heart center at their shared center. Its three-dimensional counterpart is the Star Tetrahedron, formed by two interpenetrating tetrahedra. The star represents the union and balance of Ascending and Descending, bringing together knowing your Divine nature and expressing that spiritual reality through everyday life. It also symbolizes the open Heart. Matthew conveys this relationship through the love of the lover and the Beloved. Devotion, love, and service express this communion, giving the geometry a meaning that extends into how life is lived.

Sacred Geometry of Meditation

As the system develops, breath and attention move through patterns associated with the body’s energy centers, central channels, and meridians. The meditations gradually include the arms, legs, and whole body, bringing the physical and energetic dimensions into closer alignment. Later lessons introduce three-dimensional geometric forms, including the Star Tetrahedron. The six-pointed star consists of two interwoven triangles in a flat image. The Star Tetrahedron consists of two interpenetrating tetrahedra, each a solid form with four triangular faces. Through specific sequences, the practitioner engages with these geometric patterns and the movement of energy described in the lessons. This progression serves the system’s central spiritual aim, knowing the truth of your being and living from that realization.
