The 10 Questions as a Pathway for Your Journey Within
Life may feel especially heavy when a relationship changes, trust is broken, a decision remains unsettled, or concerns about health, money, family, or someone you love begin touching every part of your day.
Your attention may already be caught by what is happening, by what hurts, and by what needs your care. The same conversation may continue moving through your thoughts, while questions about what comes next follow you throughout the day and your heart longs for relief and for life to feel steady again.
When so much of your heart and energy becomes connected to one circumstance, you may find yourself waiting for an answer, hoping for a different outcome, or considering every possible choice that could allow you to breathe more freely.
In this moment, while sadness, fear, anger, uncertainty, or disappointment may be present, another path begins to unfold. Your attention can gradually turn from the constant movement around you toward the quiet presence that has witnessed every chapter of your life.
This is where Peace Under All Circumstances begins.

What you are living may still require your care, while your attention begins turning inward toward what has always been here. Beneath the thoughts, emotions, responses of the body, and everything asking so much of you, your True Self, the Observer, is already present as Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Eternal, Unchanging, Untouchable, Love, Peace, Joy.Your True Self has witnessed every beginning and every ending, every joy and every disappointment. Life has continued changing, while what you truly are has always remained unchanged.
As your attention rests inward, even for a moment, your heart can begin to settle. Life continues unfolding before you, while the Love, Peace, Joy you truly are remain untouched by every changing circumstance.
Matthew Brownstein’s Peace Under All Circumstances: The 10 Questions becomes a powerful pathway for Your Journey Within because each question turns your attention inward and allows its answer to arise from Peace.
Each question becomes a station where life is already unfolding and where the moment before you can begin to be lived differently. A conversation may require your attention, a feeling may be moving through your heart, or a meaningful decision may be taking shape.
The mind perceives what is happening and gives it meaning. Emotions arise through that meaning, and the body responds to everything the moment represents. Across the years, these meanings and responses can become connected with beliefs, expectations, and protective ways of reacting.
These learned reactions become part of the ego’s way of experiencing life. When something resembles an earlier event, the ego reacts through familiar beliefs, emotions, and patterns. Every reaction began as an attempt to reach love, security, belonging, acceptance, happiness, freedom, and Peace.
As you move through the Ten Questions, each station meets you within what you are living now. Feelings can be fully experienced with your heart open to Love. Meanings held in the subconscious mind can transform. Limiting beliefs can be reframed, and learned reactions can release as another response arises from the present moment.
The past is over. Memories may still arise, while the meanings connected with them can transform. Life unfolds here and now, where your heart can open to Love and freedom to choose again becomes part of the way you live.
Throughout this pathway, your True Self, the Observer, remains Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Eternal, Unchanging, Untouchable, Love, Peace, Joy.

Walking Through the Ten Questions
The Ten Questions continue the inward direction that has already begun. Each one meets the life you are living now and gives you a moment to feel what is present while resting your attention with your True Self.
One question prepares the next. Each answer arises from the same Peace and becomes another return to your True Self and another return to Love.
The first station begins with what has remained unchanged through every chapter of your life.
1. Who Am I?
Your life has been expressed through your name, your relationships, your responsibilities, your work, your memories, and every event that has shaped the way you see yourself and the world around you.
Your body has changed through the years. Your roles, relationships, thoughts, feelings, and circumstances have also changed. Through every season, something has remained present, quietly witnessing each beginning, each ending, each joy, and each challenge.
It is present now as you read these words.
Allow your attention to rest with that quiet presence. Thoughts may continue moving, feelings may still be here, and life may still be asking for your care. Your True Self is already witnessing all of it.
From this Peace, the first question arises.
Who am I?
I am my True Self, the Observer. I am Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Eternal, Unchanging, Untouchable, Love, Peace, Joy.
As this answer settles into the present moment, the circumstance before you can be seen from what you truly are, and the next question begins to unfold.
2. Can I Handle This?
The relationship, the uncertainty, the decision, the loss, or whatever has been asking for your attention may still be present. Now you are meeting it while resting your attention with the True Self that has remained untouched.
The mind may remember other difficult moments, imagine what could happen next, or measure this circumstance against everything it has learned before. The body may respond through tension, emotions may arise, and the ego may react through the familiar ways it learned to protect what matters.
Life is unfolding here and now. This is the moment asking for your attention.
You are meeting what is before you now. As your attention settles in the present, what once seemed overwhelming can begin to feel more spacious. Your breathing can become quieter, and your heart can begin to rest even while the circumstances remain the same.
Allow the question to reach the moment you are living.
Can I handle this?
Yes. I can handle this moment. My True Self, the Observer, is Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Eternal, Unchanging, Untouchable, Love, Peace, Joy while life unfolds before me.
As this answer becomes part of the way you meet the moment, another possibility begins to open.
3. Can I Be at Peace with This?
A circumstance may still be asking for your full attention. A decision may still be taking shape, a conversation may need to happen, or your heart may be feeling uncertainty, disappointment, or grief.
Your breathing is here. Your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations are here. Your True Self is here as the Peace that witnesses life unfolding.
Peace is already present while you consider what needs your care. Your heart can remain open while uncertainty is present. You can make decisions, speak meaningful words, and take action while resting within what you truly are.
The circumstances may continue unfolding while your relationship with them begins to change.
Allow the question to remain with you.
Can I be at Peace with this?
Yes. I can be at Peace while life unfolds as it is.
From this Peace, your attention can now rest with what is present in your heart.
4. What Am I Feeling Right Now?
A conversation may still be living within you. A memory may arise unexpectedly. What is unfolding today may be touching your heart through sadness, fear, anger, disappointment, guilt, tenderness, relief, gratitude, or joy.
Your True Self, the Observer, is already Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Love, Peace, Joy while every feeling moves through the human experience.
Allow your attention to rest with what your heart is feeling and with what your body is expressing. The mind may begin revealing the meaning connected with the emotion, while what has remained beneath the surface begins coming into spiritual awareness.
As the feeling is fully experienced, its emotional energy can begin to move. The meaning it has carried can transform, and your heart becomes more open to Love.
Allow the question to meet what is present now.
What am I feeling right now?
With my heart open to Love, I fully experience what I am feeling. Every feeling can move freely while my True Self, the Observer, remains Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Love, Peace, Joy.
As the feeling moves through the human experience, another distinction becomes clearer.
5. Who Is Experiencing This Right Now?
Thoughts may continue moving, feelings may continue flowing, and your body may continue responding to everything this moment means to you. While all of this is happening, your True Self remains exactly as it has always been.
Your mind interprets what is unfolding through memories, beliefs, and earlier experiences. When a present circumstance resembles something from the past, learned reactions can arise almost automatically, shaping how you perceive the situation and what you feel.
Yet you are aware of these movements. You notice a thought, an emotion, a sensation in your body, or the ego’s reaction. Each is part of what you are experiencing. None defines who you truly are.
Let this distinction bring your attention to the question.
Who Is Experiencing This Right Now?
Your True Self is the consciousness experiencing this moment, the Observer aware of your thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations, and the ego’s reactions. What you observe continues changing; your essence remains Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Love, Peace, and Joy.
The question shifts your attention from what is happening to the one who is aware of it. Rather than defining yourself through a passing thought, a difficult feeling, or a circumstance, you remember who you are. Peace is inseparable from your True Self.
This recognition does not require your feelings to disappear or the situation to change. You can feel what is present, acknowledge its significance, and take whatever practical steps are needed while resting in the Peace of your own being.
From this perspective, you can see what your learned reactions have continued carrying without mistaking them for who you are, and another question begins to form.

6. Have I Suffered Enough?
A conversation may continue living within you. A disappointment may still touch your heart. Words spoken years ago may influence the way you see yourself, and a familiar fear may appear whenever life touches the same emotional place.
The circumstances and the people may have changed, while the learned reaction continued trying to protect what mattered. Through it all, the deepest longing remained the same. Your heart longed for Love, freedom, and Peace.
Now it becomes clearer that repeating the same reaction continues the suffering it was trying to prevent. The longing remains meaningful, while another way of reaching Peace begins to open.
Allow the question to touch your own story.
Have I suffered enough?
Yes. I have suffered enough. I release what holds me back. My heart opens to Love. I am free to choose again.
This answer brings you to the place where willingness can arise.
7. Am I Willing to Let This Go?
The fear, sadness, anger, memory, expectation, or belief you have carried may have taken more from your heart than you wish to keep giving, while the life you long to live continues unfolding before you.
The meaning connected with what happened is becoming clearer. The feeling is moving, your heart is opening, and being fully present becomes easier.
Willingness allows the meanings held in the subconscious mind to transform. The emotional energy connected with the memory can flow more freely, and the reaction learned by the ego can release as another response arises from what is happening now.
Allow the question to remain with whatever your heart is prepared to release.
Am I willing to let this go?
Yes. I am willing. I release what holds me back. My heart opens to Love. I choose again from the Peace of my True Self.
As willingness becomes present, you can begin sensing where the next response is arising from.
8. Am I Coming from Spirit or Ego?
The circumstance may still require your care, and life may still be unfolding in ways you never expected. Your heart is more open, being in the present moment feels easier, and the learned reaction has begun to loosen.
The ego responds through the meanings, beliefs, fears, and protective patterns it has learned. Spirit is your True Self, the Observer, already present as Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Love, Peace, Joy.
As your attention rests inward, the meaning connected with the circumstance can transform. The same conversation can be heard differently, the same relationship can be lived differently, and a response can arise from the Peace you truly are.
Allow the question to meet this moment.
Am I coming from Spirit or ego?
My attention rests with my True Self. I recognize the learned reactions of the ego, my heart opens to Love, and another response arises from the Peace I truly am.
From this freedom to choose again, the deepest intention beneath every response becomes clear.
9. What Is My Highest Intention in This Moment?
Through every protection, expectation, and familiar way of reacting, the ego has always been reaching toward something deeply meaningful. It has been seeking love, security, happiness, freedom, and Peace.
The highest intention has always been the same.
Peace under all circumstances.
Peace while listening and speaking. Peace while making a meaningful decision. Peace while facing uncertainty. Peace while life follows a different direction from the one you expected.
The circumstance may still be unfolding, while the meanings held in the subconscious mind are transforming and the reactions connected with them are releasing. Your heart can remain open to Love as your choices arise from the present moment.
Allow the question to become the quiet direction beneath the way you meet life.
What is my highest intention in this moment?
My highest intention is Peace under all circumstances. My heart opens to Love, and I meet the present moment with freedom to choose again.
With Peace as your highest intention, the final station brings the entire pathway into one meaningful choice.
10. Would I Rather Be Right, or Would I Rather Be Happy?
As you arrive at the final station of Your Journey Within, something may already feel different, even while every circumstance continues unfolding much as it did before. The way you are meeting life has begun to change.
You have rested your attention with your True Self. You have experienced your feelings with your heart open to Love. You have seen how the ego reacts through meanings and protective patterns learned across the years.
Now the final question reaches into the conversation that still lives within you, the relationship that followed another direction, the words that continue echoing, or the memory that still carries the meaning it received long ago.
The mind remembers, compares, and protects through what it has learned, always reaching for the Peace it longs to experience.
The past is over, and life is unfolding here and now. The meaning connected with what happened can transform. Your heart can continue opening to Love, and another response can arise from the present moment.
The deepest longing has always been Peace.
Being right can continue the meaning the mind has carried. Choosing happiness allows the meaning to transform.
Being right can continue the learned reaction. Choosing happiness opens the way to another response.
Being right can keep your attention connected with another time. Choosing happiness brings you fully into what is here now.
Your True Self, the Observer, remains Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Eternal, Unchanging, Untouchable, Love, Peace, Joy.
Allow the final question to meet your heart.
Would I rather be right, or would I rather be happy?
I choose to be happy. Peace under all circumstances becomes the way I meet life. I release what holds me back. I open my heart to Love. I return to my True Self. I return to Love.
Life continues bringing conversations, relationships, decisions, challenges, achievements, and moments of joy. Each one becomes another moment in which the meanings held in the subconscious mind can transform, your heart can open to Love, and you can choose again.
The Ten Questions reach their final station, while Your Journey Within continues through every moment you live.
